Day 7: The Road to the Nuptials

Day 7: The Road to the Nuptials

Dear Brimley,

I hope you are doing well and setting the standard for all the other Manor felines. They have the utmost regard for your comportment….
We took the day (and night) “off” from the wedding preparations and traveled about 2 hours from Richmond to the town of Staunton, Virginia. It is a quaint little place filled with restaurants and shops and the American Shakespeare Playhouse. We spent the afternoon walking around (it was a bit overcast and drizzly, however.) We did stumble into  a very unusual “camera museum” where we were held captive for at least thirty minutes by a round faced octogenarian who was extremely interested in telling us every detail about his historical collection.

We did escape in time for some more Indian dinner fare and then we were off to the theatre. Oh Brimley, you would have loved the raucous atmosphere and the merriment of this production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was very much in the style of the original productions in Shakespeare’s time (only slightly before your time).
We head back to Richmond this morning and resume our preparations! The weather forecast is looking favorable for Saturday, I am pleased to report.
